Matthew 11:28 Rest for the Weary

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Yokes are oppressive when the ones in charge are harsh and cruel, but Christ's commands are not so- I have seen many people who live in unrest with a heavy yoke yet are wealthy in the world. And I've seen those who strive for survival and yet are at peace in fellowship with each other in Christ.

  1. Love this! Couldn't agree more. Christ is ever willing to support us, strengthen us, and uphold us as we try to live His laws, serve others and embrace goodness. I love the peace that comes through repentance. My heart is troubled when I begin to leave his path (whether through selfishness, unkindness, dishonesty, or some other vice), but then when I reach out in prayer, do my best to correct my course, and seek his forgiveness the peace returns. In Mosiah 26:30 the Lord says "as often as my people repent will I forgive them their trespasses against me." You put it beautifully, even though we struggle against many inequalities in this life, the Lord's peace can make our harshest circumstances light, and it's absence is the heaviest weight we can carry.
